This fish keyring holds deep meaning, as it is handmade by Syrian refugee women, Helin and Feriel, living in Istanbul. The design is a tribute to the Turkish national treasure – the local fishermen standing along the Galata Bridge in pursuit of sardines, bluefish, mackerel, and palamut. Each keyring is carefully handmade by these women, providing them with a source of income and financial stability. This initiative not only supports the artisans economically but also promotes community and cultural connection. |
