Gatto Piccolo was designed by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni in 1960. It has a perfect size for the windowsill or table. It provides a diffuse light.
The shade is stretched over a metal frame and is produced by spraying the frame with a "cocoon" resin and then sprayed with a transparent finish. It feels rubbery. So it is not paper, but a reasonably robust and very light shell.
There is a dimmer on the cord so the brightness can be adjusted.
