Gatto Piccolo was designed by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni in 1960. It is a perfect size for the windowsill or table. It gives a diffused light.
The screen is stretched out on a metal frame and is produced by spraying the frame with a "cocoon" resin and then spraying it with a transparent finish. It feels rubbery. So it is not paper, but a reasonably robust and very light shell.
There is a dimmer on the cord so that the brightness can be adjusted.
